Velimir Manjulov

Project Manager

BACKGROUND

Velimir holds an MArch II from Iowa State University and was a Bachelor of Architecture candidate at the University of Belgrade, Serbia. During his studies, he explored the foundations of design based on the relationship between materials and crafts. He has a strong interest in the physical aspects of architecture and a design process where formal ideas mediate the polarities of conception and realization, facilitated by the use of technology.

Since graduating, Velimir has practiced in the Boston area, working on a variety of project types. In recent years, his focus has been on sports and recreation, institutional, and residential projects. He also spent several years at MIT as a product designer. Velimir believes that an architect’s subjective-objective responsibilities lie in decision-making to solve real-world problems in each project. For him, the architectural principles of refinement and simplification are essential to every project, and the pursuit of these principles helps develop new attitudes and language in architecture.

Velimir has a strong interest in visual arts, world cinema, and film theory and criticism.
